Description

"Grand Lodge M.S. No. 1" (one of the oldest of the "Old Charges" in existence), dated 25th December, 1583. The opening section is on the left , and the closing section on the right, the complete roll being a hand written parchment 8'10" long by 4¾". These Charges laid down a code of behaviour for Operative Masons and many of their tenets were later absorbed into the rituals of the Speculative Masons . The present version is printed at the beginning of the "Book of Constitutions".
