Description

The Throne made for George, Prince of Wales (later King George IV) during his Grand Mastership (1790-1813) has been in regular use for the Installation of new Grand Master's since 1813. Originally the Throne was surmounted by carved Prince of Wales' Feathers encircled by his coronet, but in 1901 these were replaced by the coronet alone of the Duke of Connaught resting upon a carved cushion. The Throne is normally kept in the Museum .
