Description

The inside of the doors represents the seraphim, that on the left being emblematic of God's power and that on the right indicating that He has given the Moon to govern by night. In the centre "The Creator deigning to bless man's estate upon Earth, hath opened the Hand of His benevolence with good gifts." The handles of the doors are wrought in the form of swords, one with a serpent denoting wisdom, the other with a lion symbolizing courage.
