Description

" The Grand Temple has a capacity of over 1,700 and is123 feet long, 90 feet wide and 62 feet high. The view is from the north-west and includes the Grand Masters' Throne, flanked by those of the Deputy Grand Master and the Assistant Grand Master, the dais and the Junior Grand Warden's chair, above which a balcony is visible. This is repeated on the north side and above the bronze doors in the west. Behind the throne the organ console and one section of organ pipes can be seen. The walls are lined with Ashburton marble as a base, and Botticino marble over and including the great cornice."
