The exterior from the south west shows the Memorial Tower ( 156 feet high), Ceremonial Entrance and Great Queen Street frontage. The building, commenced in 1927 and dedicated in 1933, stands on the site of the first Freemasons' Hall of 1774. It is primarily a memorial to the fallen in the Great War of 1914-1918. The clock commemorates the 250th anniversary of the premier Grand Lodge.
