Description
Comparison of these By Laws dated 15 September 1876 with those dated 12th February 1909 (see 2006/1131.5) is interesting, not least the high priority given to the details of the banquet in the early edition. Both editions contain the "pledge to appear" Few lodges still follow this custom the deposit or proposition fee being accepted as part of the Initiation fee, to be returned if the Candidate were not elected.
