OBVERSE: Female figure kneeling before a pedestal bearing an open book and the square and compasses, beside which stands a skeleton with scythe to whom she is appealing; in the background are shattered buildings; above, an irradiated eye.

REVERSE: Inscriptions in 9 lines and around; above, a shield charged with two keys in saltire.
