OBVERSE: An equilateral triangle, one angle at the top, surrounded by a chain, entwined with which is a wreath of ivy leaves, and above are two right hands joined. Legend, in three lines on the triangle, DIE/BRUDERKETTE/VON 1862

REVERSE: Plain. The medal has a loop and button for attaching to a lapel.
