Description

OBVERSE: Bede, vested in a chasuble and with nimbus, holding a book in his left hand and a miniature church in his right, standing beneath a canopy. This is round-arched below, and rises to a pointed roof above an ornamental structure, the whole supported on pillars. Below, VENERABLE . BEDE and at the sides sprigs of foliage. Around, . SAINTS BEDE • LODGE • 1119 .

REVERSE: Inscription in 10 lines, in a circle surrounded by a chaplet formed of an ear of wheat and a conventional flower, a pentalpha above, To/COMMEMORATE/THE . 50TH . YEAR . OF/THE . FOUNDATION/OF/ST. BEDE. LODGE. 1119/OF. A • F• AND. A. M ./JARROW/JUNE 5TH 1866/JUNE. 5TH 1916
