OBVERSE: Portrait bust to left, within a depressed inner circle. Around, above, GUL • JOH • CHETWODE CRAWLEY J • U• D and below, in two lines, APUD HIBERNOS BURSARIUS MAGNIFICUS /NECNON E SECRETIS LATOMORUM ET HISTORIOGRAPHUS

REVERSE: Shield of Arms of Chetwode Crawley, surmounted by helmet and crest and with foliated mantling. Within the circular border, above, M.XCIIM. and below, on a scroll, MIHI CÆLUM PORTUS


W. J. Chetwode Crawley, who died in 1916, was one of the earliest Joining Members of the Lodge Quatuor Coronati, No. 2076. He was a very high authority on matters relating to the craft in Ireland; and his “Caementaria Hibernica” is a work of the first order.
