Description

OBVERSE: A medallion with a bust of Queen Victoria, wearing crown and jewels; around the edge, • VICTORIA • R & I • ASCENDED THE THRONE JUNE • and below, 1837 Behind, partly covered by the medallion, the square and compasses; above, a scroll inscribed GOD SAVE THE QUEEN and below (small) KENNING LONDON Around the whole, JUBILEE MEETING 14 JULY 1887 AT YORK and below, a sprig of acacia and an ear of corn tied with a ribbon.

REVERSE: Two shields, that on the left bearing a device similar to the Royal Standard, a coronet above, and ESSAYEZ on a scroll below; that on the right a coat exhibiting three swords in pile; above, an eagle with wings spread, and AYMEZ LOYAULTE on a scroll below. Behind, partly covered, is a pentalpha enclosing the monogram V R I and below is the Rose of York. Around, PROVINCIAL GRAND LODGE NORTH & EAST YORKSHIRE A small rosette at the base.
