Description

A pierced circle, over which is placed a five-pointed star with circular heart and flames in the angles.

OBVERSE: Within the central circle, against a background of the sun shining in splendour, a shield bearing a plain cross, supported by an ostrich and a kangaroo; an eye among clouds above. Along the edge of the circle are the Lodge numbers 820, 548 and at the base 390. The outer circle is in the form of a garter with buckle at base, and bears the inscription LODGE OF AUSTRALIA JUBILEE 1878

REVERSE: Plain.

Surmounting the whole is a coronet from which rise the Prince of Wales’ feathers, with loop for suspension. Ribbon, 35 mm., pale blue, with hanger ornamented with key-pattern, and a bar in the form of a scroll inscribed 390 E.C.
