Description
OBVERSE: Within a gold border, a field of blue enamel, on which is the “White Horse of Kent” in silver. Along the border, UNION IS STRENGTH/CENTENARY Below the border is appended a scroll inscribed MARGATE 1863 and a rope loosely surrounds the whole. Above are the square and compasses, to which the hanger is attached.
REVERSE: Plain.
Ribbon, 31 mm., light blue; suspended by bars inscribed UNION LODGE and CXXVII
The Lodge has worked only since 1813, under a Warrant originally issued to a London Lodge in 1763, which survived until about 1810 after being several times erased.
