Description
"Date: Early 20th century.
Origin: English, likely Stourbridge.
Style: A heavy cased blue over clear cup shaped firing glass. Deeply engraved with a square and compasses with ‘838’ between the legs. This is Franklin Lodge in the Province of Lincolnshire. There are two elaborate blazing stars on either side along with a plumb line. All engraving is frosted to the clear with the exception of a series of fairly large dished ovals that run all around the lower part of the bowl. The bowl is 5.7cm in diameter.
Base: Polished pontil concaved to clear. 2.3cm diameter."
Properties
"Glass: Cased blue over clear soda.
Height: 5.8cm.
Weight: 246 grams.
Condition: Excellent. Very minor wear on the rim commensurate with use. A couple of very minor small bruises to the edges of the dishing. No repairs."
