by ALBERT G. MACKEY, M.D., author of “A Lexicon of Freemasonry,” “Book of tIne Chapter,” &c. Seventh edition. New York: Macoy and Sickels, Publishers, 430 Broome Street. 1865.

The late Dr. Mackey was one of the most learned and interesting Masonic writers in his day, and has left many proofs of his well directed researches and sterling honesty, besides publishing works which have aided Masonic Students, wherever located, to rightly appreciate the literature of the Craft. Of course no volume on Masonicjurisprudence can apply to other jurisdictions, being of necessity written for a s)ecial Grand Lodge, and then only for a precise period, but there are general points involved, which may be studied with advantage in this treatise by our lamented friend.
