Description
Obverse,—An altar, on which lies an open book; the front of the altar has an inscription, “Pro Deo et patria” (For God and fatherland). Above is a radiant triangle, on the right of which is the sun, and on the left the moon, On each side of the altar is a pillar, that on the right inscribed with “B,” and that on the left with “J.” In exergue, in small letters, “Des F.” and “[ ].'. Des H H H 0.’. Du Havre 5813” (Lodge of the Three H’s, Orient of Havre, 1813), in three lines.
Reverse.—A five-pointed blazing star, in which are the square and compasses, and on either side a branch of myrtle. Legend, “Harmonia honor humanitas regunt” (Harmony, honor, and humanity rule).
