Description

The letters on the reverse are for Loge de St. Jean sous le titre distinctif de St. Louis de Ia Martinique de Freres Reunis, or St. John’s Lodge, under the distinctive title of St. Louis of Martinique of Assembled Brothers. This Lodge was founded Jan. 30, 1762. The medal is engraved in T. N. N., Plate 52, Figure S. The date of striking is supposed to be 1811.

Obverse.—The imperial eagle turning to the right, with expanded wings, and holding a thunderbolt in his talons. Legend, “Empire Francais.”

Reverse.’—Two laurel branches crossed, between which are the square and compasses hanging by a ribbon; below is a five-pointed radiant star. Legend, ~L.D,Sr.J.S.L.T.D,D.StL.D.L.M.D,F.R,~~ In exergue, “Omnes . in. uno” (All in one).
