Description
The Lodge was constituted June 14, 1804. The letters “C. H.” are an abbreviation of Chapitrale, denoting that the body confers the degree of a Rose Croix in a Chapter.
Obverse.—In a circle, formed by two wreaths of laurel joined at foot by a ribbon, with a small opening at top, “I.’. Ch.. Et Areopa.. Du Phoenix Rit D’Hero:.” in four lines.
Reverse.—An altar, on which is a phoenix, his head turned to the sun above onthe right; the altar is adorned with the square and compasses. At the foot of the altar, on the right, is a trowel and square, and on the left the gavel and compasses. Legend, “Il Renait De Ses Cendres” (It rises again from its ashes). In exergue, “Or.. De Paris 1804 Coqnardon F.,” in three lines.
