Description

Similar to Marvin’s reverse of 250, in bronze, and also silver (Page 295), but evidently unknown either to him or to Merzdorf, as respects the obverse.

Obverse.—Three draped figures standing. The right hands of figures to left and right clasped in front of the central one, whose arms appear to be thrown around his companions. The fingers of the figure to left are brought to the mouth. Legend in cypher.

Reverse.—The square and compasses, within which is a radiant triangle, bearing the Hebrew tetra-grammaton. Over the joint of the compasses a five-pointed blazing star, finishing the legend, “Constantia Menucre Lumen” (By constancy they have merited light).
