Description

Struck in memory of Von Nettebladt, who was for a long time Master of St. Andrews Lodge Lucens in Rostock and is believed to have systematized and improved the work of the first three degrees as practised in the Lodges working nnder Zinnendorf’s modifiedSwedish rite. He was one of the best informed Masons of his time. See Findel (No. 169), page 590.

Obverse.—Clothed bust, facing, of Baron Von Nettelbladt; around his neck is a ribbon from which hangs a cross (patee) ; a chain collar, from which is suspended a square, falls from his shoulders; on the coat, near the lapel, on the left, “ Loos D,” in small letters; on the right, “ Schilling F.” Legend, on a slightly raised and roughened border, above, “Christ, Carl, Fr. Wilh. Freth Vou Nettelbladt* ;“ and below, “* Geb. D. XV Febr., 1779, (Jest. D. IX Jnl., 1843.” (Christian Charles Fr. William Baron (Freiherr) Von Nettelbladt, born Feb. 15, 1779, died July 9, 1843.)

Reverse.—In a circle of twelve five-pointed radiant stars, the inscription in five lines, “Den-, Uavergesslichen, Seine Danklaren Brudder “ (To one never to be forgotten, his grateful Brethren dedicate this.)
