Description
"This image is a portrait of Francis Rawdon-Hastings, 1st Marquess of Hastings (1754–1826), a prominent British politician and military officer who served as Governor-General of India.
• Artist and Creator: The portrait is based on an original work attributed to Sir Edwin Henry Landseer, with engravings created by Francesco Bartolozzi after John Hoppner.
• Historical Context: Rawdon-Hastings was also known as the 2nd Earl of Moira and held significant roles in both British politics and the army during the late 18th and early 19th centuries.
