Description
Inside:-
Design very faint. Bottom a full rigged ship. On sides
1. 'The Iron bridge over the Wear.
2. "Be wise then Christian
While you may
For swiftly time is flying
The thoughtless man who laughs today
Tomorrow may be dying."
3. "Now safe returned from dangers
With joy I hail the shore
And fear no more the tempests
Nor Oceans angry roar."
Outside:-
The Sailors farewell - Design as 1927/50 but crudly cloured in green, red and yellow.
On reverse written in a wreath of flowers
"Women make men love,
Love makes them sad,
Sadness makes them drink,
And drinking makes them mad."
