OBVERSE: A view of the School Building with tower, surmounted by a minaret at the near corner. Above, MASONIC FEMALE ORPHAN SCHOOL and in ex: OF/IRELAND
REVERSE: Inscription in 9 lines, FOUNDATION STONE/OF NEW SCHOOL LAID /ON/ST JOHN’S DAY: 1880/BY/HIS GRACE THE DUKE OF/ABERCORN, K. G./M.’. W.’./GRAND MASTER Above, the square and compasses, and around the whole, SCHOOL FOUNDED 1792. NEW BUILDING MERRION ROAD OPENED 1882. At the base, a pentalpha between two sprigs of shamrock.
