Description
OBVERSE: Under an irregular tressure of three arches ornamented with a key pattern, two Corinthian columns, adorned with terrestrial and celestial globes, their bases marked B and J, standing at the sides of a squared pavement on which are the letters R s Between the columns, CHARITY and below this word, arranged in acrostic form, CONTENTMENT HONOUR AFFECTION RIGHTEOUSNESS INSIGHT TENDERNESS YOUTHFULNESS Below the pavement, 1903 and around the base, BROTHERLY LOVE RELIEF TRUTH Above, the square and compasses, and in the spandrils two words in Hebrew characters.
REVERSE: In 8 lines, DEDICATED/TO THE/W. M. AND BRETHREN/OF/”RISING STAR”/LODGE/NO 1022 E. C./BLOEMFONTEIN A crescent moon encircled by seven stars above, and two sprigs of oak crossed below.
