Pink Lustre 7” Jug Circa 1800
Classification:- Jug
Description
On the Left:-
Arranged behind and partly hidden by book, 2 pillars;a ladder; 24" guage; a level; and plumb.
Below 3 candlesticks; a perfect ashlar; cross keys; letter G on one triangle superimposed on another reversed; a trowel; a maul.
To the left a figure of Hope with anchor. The moon and stars and a beehive.
Above figure of Charity.
To the right figure of Justice . The sun; two clasped hands and a dove with olive branch
Under spout in centre:-
"Remember me,
When this you see,
And keep me in your mind,
For let the World;
Say what they will,
Speak of me as you find."
On Left:-
Under picture of The Sailors Farewell
"Sweet oh sweet is that sensation,
Where two hearts in union meet,
But the pain of separation
Mingles bitter with the Sweet."
